Spruce Up Machines Recognised at Swachh Survekshan 2024
The Results
Swachh Survekshan 2024 results confirmed what Spruce Up’s municipal partners had been seeing on the ground: cities that deploy mechanical sweeping systematically score significantly higher on cleanliness indicators than those relying on manual methods alone.
Fourteen cities using Spruce Up equipment placed in the top 50 nationally. Of those, six placed in the top 20 — including three that had been outside the top 100 just two years earlier.
What Drove the Improvement
The Swachh Survekshan methodology rewards consistency and documentation as much as visible cleanliness. Mechanical sweepers produce GPS logs, operating hour records, and route completion data that manual sweeping cannot match.
Several of our municipal partners used Spruce Up Genie’s reporting dashboard to generate the documentation required for their Survekshan submissions directly — reducing the administrative burden on city sanitation departments significantly.
Recognition at the National Level
At the national award ceremony in New Delhi, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs specifically highlighted the role of mechanisation in top-ranking cities’ performance. Spruce Up was acknowledged as the leading domestic supplier in the litter picking and road sweeping segments.
