At Spruce Up Industries, we design, manufacture and deploy India's most advanced road sweepers and litter pickers — machines that are engineered to perform under the most demanding municipal, industrial and highway conditions.
Founded in Pune in 2015 by Harvard alum Abhishek Shelar, we began with a single conviction: that India's cities deserve world-class cleaning infrastructure. Today, our fleet has swept over 300,000 tons of waste across 43 cities in 24 states, and is deployed in 5 countries.
We build the machines. We train the operators. We back every deployment with AMC plans, spare parts, and on-site field support teams.
This means we are accountable for the full lifecycle — from engineering and manufacturing to deployment and aftercare. We don't just sell machines; we build lasting partnerships with municipalities, highway authorities, and campuses who depend on us to keep public spaces clean every single day.
Recognised by the Government of India as winners of the Swachhata Startup Challenge, and featured in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia, we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in industrial cleaning machinery.

The Story of Spruce Up
Why we started and what drives us today.
India's urban cleaning challenge is immense — millions of kilometres of roads, thousands of municipalities, and a workforce of sanitation workers who deserve better tools. We saw this gap and built a company to close it.
From a small workshop in Pune, we developed the JATAYU HD — India's first high-suction vacuum litter picker. Cities noticed. Orders followed. By 2021, our 100th machine had been dispatched. By 2022, we had gone international.
We are not just a machinery company. We are a mission-driven organisation that believes smarter machines create cleaner cities, and cleaner cities create better lives. Every machine we build is a statement of that belief.
