Jatayu AMC plans explained: Basic, Standard, and Comprehensive.

JATAYU Super is a sturdy, heavy-duty machine. It is designed to work hard for many years.

But just like we take care of our own body with good food and regular check-ups, a machine also needs timely care.

“How do I protect this machine and avoid surprise repair bills?”

That is precisely what our Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) plans are designed for. In this guide, we will explain the three AMC plans to show you what each one covers and help you choose the right plan for your usage.

Our goal is simple: you focus on operations, we take care of the machine.

First, what do all Jatayu AMCs have in common?

Across Basic, Standard, and Comprehensive AMCs, some things are common:

  • Regular scheduled servicing of the Mitsubishi engine and Jatayu machine as per the hour-based schedule (50 (only the first servicing is at 50 hours, the rest are at an interval of 250 hrs), 250, 500, 750, 1000, 1250, 1500 hours, and so on).
  • All consumables required for that servicing are included: engine oil, engine oil filters, hydraulic oil, return filters, compressor oil, etc., as per the servicing schedule.
    AMC for 1500 hrs Basic
  • Preventive maintenance inspection during service visits. This means the machine is checked properly at each scheduled service. Day-to-day preventive maintenance in between visits (basic checks, cleaning, and correct operation) remains the responsibility of the client’s team.
  • Virtual after-sales support: priority video-call support from our expert team to diagnose issues quickly and guide your local team.
  • Coverage period: 1 year or 1,500 hours of running, whichever comes first, as aligned with the machine warranty and AMC documents.

So, no matter which AMC you choose, your regular servicing and basic health check of the machine are taken care of.

At a glance: Basic vs Standard vs Comprehensive

Here is a simple comparison to understand the logic of each plan.

This table is not about “right or wrong” usage. It is about how much risk and effort you want to manage yourself, and how much you want to fix in advance inside the AMC.

Plan What you are mainly paying for How spare parts are handled Good if you want…
Basic (Service AMC) Regular scheduled servicing and labour, plus all consumables needed for that servicing Consumable parts for servicing are included. All wear & tear parts and breakdown parts are billed separately as and when needed. Lowest fixed AMC cost and are comfortable handling parts approvals, pricing changes, and breakdown bills yourself.
Standard AMC Everything in Basic, plus a pre-defined list and quantity of wear & tear parts already built into the AMC Consumables plus specific wear & tear parts are included up to fixed quantities. Any extra parts beyond the list are chargeable. More predictable yearly cost and less time spent on repeated approvals for common wear & tear items.
Comprehensive AMC Everything in Standard, plus many major breakdown parts covered after warranty (as per agreed list) Consumables + listed wear & tear parts + listed “comprehensive” breakdown parts are included when they fail under normal use, after warranty. Maximum coverage and minimum exposure to sudden big repair bills after the warranty period.

Which AMC plan is right for my usage level?

Many people assume the AMC choice depends mainly on how many hours the machine runs or whether it works in one shift or two. But in reality, every JATAYU AMC (Basic, Standard or Comprehensive) covers the same period: one year or 1,500 hours, whichever comes first.

So the question of “which AMC is right for me” is not about hours.
It is more about how much risk and responsibility you want to handle yourself.

Different organisations work differently. Think of AMC selection like choosing the level of protection you want.

Some have their own mechanics, their own spare parts process and the ability to manage repairs internally. Others prefer that the OEM takes over as much responsibility as possible so they only have to focus on running their operations smoothly.

The AMC plans are built around these preferences.

Basic AMC – when you prefer to keep more control in your hands

The Basic AMC is the minimum recommended level of protection.

It ensures the machine is serviced correctly at all the right intervals, using the right oils and filters. This alone prevents many major breakdowns that happen when improper or delayed servicing is done.

Clients who choose Basic AMC are usually comfortable taking on a larger share of the risk. It is mainly for recommended for contractors or large organisations that already have:

  • Multiple machines
  • Their own workshop
  • Their own technicians

If you are confident in your team’s ability to monitor the machine, purchase parts in advance, and handle day-to-day issues, the Basic AMC may suit you.

Standard AMC – when you want fewer surprises and smoother operation

The Standard AMC is the plan we recommend for most users.

It gives you all the benefits of proper servicing and adds another layer of convenience: a predefined list of wear-and-tear parts is included in the AMC.

This means you do not have to worry about frequent small approvals for the parts that everyone knows will get used during the year. These parts are already planned, kept ready, and supplied without repeated paperwork.

Standard AMC is ideal if you want:

  • Less effort
  • Less risk
  • Less downtime
  • No running around for small parts

Many municipal bodies, private industries and contractors prefer the Standard AMC because it strikes the right balance. You are not paying for the highest level of coverage, but you are also not exposed to regular parts fluctuations and delays. Your operations team also spends far less effort on tracking and ordering recurring items.

If you want predictability without locking everything into the highest plan, the Standard AMC is usually the safest and most convenient choice.

Comprehensive AMC – when you want maximum protection after the warranty

Some customers prefer that the OEM handle almost everything after the warranty period ends. This is where the Comprehensive AMC helps. It builds on the Standard AMC and adds coverage for a defined list of major breakdown parts after the warranty ends.

This plan reduces your exposure to sudden high-value repairs and gives you the comfort that most of the critical components are covered when they fail under normal working conditions. It is especially useful for customers who do not have internal mechanics and who want OEM accountability end-to-end, or for private industries where a single machine must remain operational without long downtime.

Comprehensive AMC adds:

  • Coverage against Many major breakdown parts after warranty
  • Very low exposure to sudden high-value failures
  • Maximum convenience and predictability

You pay more for the AMC, but you carry almost no risk for the parts listed in the comprehensive coverage.

If you want to move as much risk as possible to the AMC and avoid unexpected repair costs after warranty, the Comprehensive plan is the best fit.

Are spare parts and consumables included?

Do any of the AMC plans include the cost of spare parts?

Yes. All three plans include the consumable parts needed for regular scheduled servicing, such as:

  • Engine oil and oil filters for Mitsubishi engine servicing

  • Hydraulic oil and return filters

  • Compressor oil and piston rings

  • Other mandatory servicing items as per the service schedule

The difference is in how much extra is included:

  • Basic AMC – only consumables for servicing are included. All wear & tear and breakdown parts are charged separately.

  • Standard AMC – includes consumables plus a fixed list and quantity of wear & tear parts at no extra cost within the AMC, as mentioned in the annexure.

  • Comprehensive AMC – includes all of Standard, plus a list of major breakdown parts (comprehensive spares) provided free of cost when they fail under normal conditions after warranty.

Parts damaged due to negligence, accident, foreign objects, flooding, mishandling or misuse are not covered in any AMC and are always chargeable.

Are consumables always included?

For all three AMCs, yes – the consumables required for each scheduled service are included in the AMC value as per the servicing schedule tables in the annexures.

What does “preventive maintenance” actually include?

Preventive maintenance is simply your machine’s regular health check-up.

Instead of waiting for a breakdown, we service the machine at fixed hour intervals. During these visits, our technician:

  • Change engine oil and filters as per hour schedule (50, 250, 500… up to 2,750 hours).
AMC for 1500 hrs with comprehen…

  • Services hydraulic system: checks and replaces hydraulic oil and return filter at 1,000 hours.
AMC for 1500 hrs with comprehen…

  • Services compressor: changes compressor oil and piston ring at defined intervals.

  • Checks and replaces beading, NO switches, belts and other recommended items as per the machine’s general servicing table.
    AMC for 1500 hrs Standard

  • Inspects hoses, seals and fittings for leaks or damage.

  • Checks all safety switches, electricals and controls.

  • Lubricates moving parts and checks boom, hopper and remote functions.

The aim is simple: catch issues early, keep suction, hydraulics and airflow at the right level, and avoid big failures later.

FAQ – common questions about Jatayu AMCs

1. What happens if I don’t renew my AMC right after the warranty ends? Is there a penalty?

There is no penalty as such. But there are two important practical points:

  • Once the 1-year / 1,500-hour warranty period is over, any covered components that fail are no longer under warranty, so parts and labour become chargeable.
    Warranty Terms & Conditions

  • If you come to us later for AMC, we will normally schedule a quick inspection of your machine first. Any existing faults or overdue maintenance must be corrected (on chargeable basis) before AMC starts.

So from a cost and uptime point of view, it is better to move into AMC as your warranty is ending, not many months later.

2. How often will you service my machine?

We follow the hour-based schedule from your AMC annexures. There is servicing at:

  • 50 hours, then

  • every 250 hours (250, 500, 750, 1,000, 1,250, 1,500 hours, and so on), plus

  • additional “super servicing” at 1,000 hours for hydraulic oil, return filter, compressor servicing, etc.
AMC for 1500 hrs with comprehen…

Practical rule of thumb: for a machine running daily, you can expect multiple visits in a year, and our team informs you 3–4 days in advance so you can plan shifts and parking.

AMC for 1500 hrs with comprehen…

3. How do I renew my AMC or start a new one?

We keep the process simple:

  • If your warranty is about to end: our after-sales team will usually contact you around 30 days before expiry to discuss your usage and recommend Basic, Standard or Comprehensive for the next cycle.

  • If your warranty has already expired: just call our after-sales number or email our service team. We will schedule an inspection visit, check the health of the machine, and then share an AMC proposal based on your usage and condition.

Once you approve the plan and commercial terms, the AMC is activated and scheduled servicing starts.

4. Can I change my AMC plan later?

You can upgrade your AMC to a higher plan (from Basic to Standard, or Standard to Comprehensive) if your usage increases or uptime needs become more critical, subject to a machine inspection to confirm eligibility.

However, you cannot downgrade from a higher plan to a lower plan during the same AMC period. Any change downwards is normally considered only at the time of renewal.

5. What do you mean by “free servicing”? What does the AMC mean by “vendor responsibility for consumables”?

JATAYU servicing has two different phases, and each phase works differently.

1. Free Servicing (50 / 100 / 250 hours)

During the first three early-stage services:

  • Labour is free
  • Inspection is free
  • Travel and boarding are free

But the consumables are NOT free.

The client must provide:

  • Engine oil
  • Coolant
  • Any consumables required at that stage

So “free servicing” means free labour — not free materials.

2. AMC Servicing (after you enter an AMC)

Once the machine is under an AMC, the rule changes.

The AMC document says:

“It will be the responsibility of the vendor to acquire the required consumables for each service.”

This means:

  • Spruce Up (the vendor) will bring all consumables needed for every scheduled AMC service
  • The client does not have to purchase oil, filters, coolant, hydraulic oil, return filters, etc.
  • The entire servicing process is vendor-handled

So under AMC, consumables become vendor’s responsibility, as part of the service commitment.

Client responsibility: What we expect from you, even when you have an AMC

An AMC handles scheduled servicing, inspections, and the technical work required at each service interval. However, this does not replace the client’s day-to-day responsibility towards the machine. An AMC is designed to support good maintenance—not to override it.

Even with the highest level of coverage, the machine still needs correct handling, proper operating habits, and basic care during daily use. These routine actions directly influence performance, uptime, and long-term reliability.

Here are the key responsibilities we expect every client to follow:

1. Daily cleaning and general upkeep

The machine must be kept clean, especially after each shift. Regular cleaning prevents dust build-up, helps maintain airflow, reduces strain on components, and supports overall health of the system.

2. Use of good-quality fuel and materials

Fuel quality has a major impact on engine life, injector performance, and filter condition. Poor or contaminated fuel can lead to failures that are preventable through consistent good-practice.

3. Basic routine checks before operation

Daily checks, such as verifying coolant and oil levels, observing for leaks, and ensuring that all major functions operate normally, are essential. These checks take only a few minutes and prevent many avoidable issues.

4. Correct operating practices

The machine must be operated as trained during handover. Misuse, overloading, bypassing safety steps, or continuing to operate despite visible abnormalities can cause damage that no AMC can prevent.

5. Reporting issues early

Any unusual sound, vibration, performance drop, or visible abnormality should be reported immediately. Early reporting allows timely support and avoids escalation into major failures.

We provide the complete checklists during training and handover, and updated versions are available on request at any time. Clients should refer to the checklists shared with them and ensure their operators follow the required routines.

In summary

An AMC ensures that scheduled servicing, inspections, and technical checks are always completed on time. Client responsibility ensures that the machine is used, handled and monitored correctly in between those services.

Both sides are essential. The AMC is designed so the client and vendor can work hand-in-hand to keep the machine in its best working condition for a very long period of time. When both responsibilities are followed consistently, the machine delivers stable performance, longer life and significantly lower downtime.

Final thoughts and next steps

We hope this guide has helped you understand how each AMC level works and how they differ in terms of coverage, predictability,  and responsibility.

  • Basic AMC – suitable when you are comfortable handling most risk yourself and have the internal capability to manage parts and breakdowns.

  • Standard AMC – the most balanced and commonly recommended option, giving smoother operation and predictable maintenance by including the essential wear & tear parts.

  • Comprehensive AMC – ideal when you want maximum protection after warranty, minimum exposure to major failures, and the highest level of vendor responsibility.

No matter which plan you select, an AMC ensures that scheduled servicing, technical checks, and essential consumables are taken care of on time. In parallel, daily care and correct operation from your team keep the machine running in its best condition for years. When both sides work consistently, Spruce Up machines deliver long, dependable performance with far less downtime.

Our aim is not only to sell a machine but to partner with you for long-term performance and uptime.
